Be an ICS selector in our York office.
International Service is an international development charity based in York.
We are part of a consortium that delivers the DFID funded International Citizen Service (ICS).
ICS brings together young people of between 18-25 years old, who volunteer to make a difference to some of the world’s most marginalised communities around the world, whilst gaining transferable skills and invaluable experience.
We need selectors at our York office to help run our volunteer assessment days, together with a team of ICS co-ordinators and staff. These are voluntary positions but reasonable travel expenses will be reimbursed and training will be provided. We would require a commitment of a number of days per month, however this could be worked through on an individual basis with possible candidates.
The positions require people with good interpersonal skills, good note-taking and observation skills, negotiation skills, ability to express views in a constructive manner, a willingness to learn and adapt to International Service/ICS systems and possible interviewing experience.
